Two other projects were also undertaken this summer recapturing the original hole design of #5 South and repairing the green at #15 South. Hole #5 South had been changed over the years to accommodate ground water drainage. This summer we installed a new drainage system for this hole which has allowed us to restore the hole to it’s original design, eliminating the fairway waste bunker and returning the original turf line.

 

Hole #15 South had experienced some issues last spring, during the summer we were able to conduct the cultural practices need to recover this green and it is now in perfect health. We expect it to be at the same level as our other 35 greens this season, which is to say excellent.

 

We are also receiving a brand new fleet of golf carts this fall, we have ordered the new RXV EZGO Golf Carts. This is their new top of the line golf cart which includes a sturdier frame and body design (very similar to a Club Car) improved speed and torque which will help on some of our steeper hills, and a new battery system which holds a charge much longer than the previous model. These carts are being used at several of the top clubs in the country including Arnold Palmer’s own club Latrobe.
